DISPLAYING A FLY
When tying
artistic style flies such as Classic Atlantic Salmon Flies or Realistic Flies, then you will probably want to display them. Maybe you just want to display a set of dry flies for decoration around the house, friends or a number of different resonsand and hopefully these pages will provide some ideas.

MOUNT AND FRAME
Mounting and framing flies is the most common method used to display flies. Using a shadow box is very effective and looks great.

DISPLAY CASES
Display cases can be as simple as a baseball card case or a fish aquarium that has been decorated to resemble a real life scene.

MOUNTING A FLY ON A STAND
Mounting a fly on a stand can be simple and fairly straight forward or as complex a design that your creativity allows. The technical definition of the words 'Fly on a stand', can encompass a lot of territory. In this case the stand is the base that the fly is
mounted or attached for display purposes.

Keeping the design simple is usually a good idea when designing a mount system and background. In most cases you want the fly to be the focus point and the base should blend in with the background or compliment the fly. The fly should look like it is free floating or standing there under it's own power.

Custom Rock Mounts

CUSTOM ROCK MOUNTS
These custom rocks are very simple and effective. They are free-standing and can be custom designed to compliment the color of the fly being displayed.

Moss Covered Twigs

MOSS AND LICHEN MOUNTS
Moss and lichen covered twigs can be used to mount flies with great results.

Some other pages we have started to design include invisible mounting systems and attachments, push pins, displaying flies in a scrapbook, baseball card cases and much more.
